And for anyone reading who doesn’t have fair skin, just know that many of these products come in different colors to suit a variety of skintones, so don’t be afraid to click the links and do a little shopping for yourself 🙂

1. Benefit Dandelion Twinkle

Benefit Dandelion Twinkle

What is so special about this powder highlight is it’s super soft texture and ability to give a beautiful natural glow to the face.

I reach for this on days where I don’t want to blind anyone with my highlight, but instead just want my skin to look really healthy and radiant in a natural way.

It does have a pinky peachy undertone to it, so keep that in mind. Also, if you’re looking for a highlighter to strobe with or really show up on the skin, this is not for you.

2. Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops in Celestial

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops Highlighter, Celestial, 0.5 Ounce

These liquid highlighting drops may be on the pricier side, but with a blinding highlight effect from a couple drops?

Trust me, you’ll get your money’s worth. But perhaps the coolest aspect of these drops is that they can be worn in a multitude of ways!

Layer them on skin to create an instant highlight as bold or as subtle as you like, or mix them in with your foundation for an all over luminosity!

You can even layer them with powder highlights to amp them up.

3. Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighters in Radiant Lights

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter, Radiant Lights

This lightweight powder highlighter is awesome because it is not only super budget friendly, but buildable as well and gives a nice healthy glow when applied with a dry brush.

But if you want to shine like a goddess be prepared to apply a few layers and even use some makeup fixing spray to play up the sheen.

I’ve found that this highlighter is super beginner friendly because of the fact that it is buildable and also an inexpensive drugstore option.

4. The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, Honey-Hued Luminizer, Highlighter, Travel-Size

First I would like to preface this by stating that The Balm is one of my all time favorite cosmetic brands!

Not only do they kill it in the packaging game, but the names of their products are absolutely adorable, and most importantly, their quality is top notch.

This brand is known as a higher end drugstore brand but is still relatively affordable, especially compared to what you would find in department stores or Sephora.

This highlighter by them has reached cult status because of how smoothly it applies and how noticeable it is on the skin. No chunky glitter here honey!

The color is a soft champagne gold, but by no means a yellow gold. This product looks great atop cheekbones, under the brow bone, above the cupid’s bow, and even the inner corner of the eyes.

The only complaint I have about it, is that it is very delicate, I’ve broken mine from dropping it before so just handle with caution.

5. MAC ‘Mineralize’ Skinfinish in Lightscapade

MAC mineralize skinfinish LIGHTSCAPADE ~ Fall Colour Angel Flame

This baked powder highlight is infused with real minerals and is subtle enough that it can actually function as an all over setting powder! Of course, it also can be built up for an amazing sheen.

I love using this on days where I do not want anyone to think I’m wearing a highlighter (or makeup even lol) but instead want them to think I’ve got really glowy skin!

MAC describes the color as that of a soft beige with a multidimensional shimmer, but I personally think it’s more of a champagne color.

If you’re new to highlighting or want something that is going to be very subtle, then I would definitely recommend this product.

6. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Pearl

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed, Pearl, 7 Gram

Contrary to some of the previous highlighters on this list, this baby is by no means “subtle”.

Made to give you the glow of an angel fallen straight from Heaven, Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfectors mean serious business in the world of highlighting.

They do an amazing job when it comes to creating a strobing effect or just giving the skin that sexy “wet” gleam look. The formula is that of a powder, but applies silky to the skin as if it were a cream.

Even more luxurious?

Becca puts crushed pearls into this product that help to magnify radiance by reflecting and refracting light off the skin! These highlighters are very expensive but worth every penny in my opinion!

7. L.A. Girl Strobe Lite Strobing Powder in 110 Watt

L.A. Girl Strobe Lite Strobing Powder, 110 Watt, 0.19 Ounce

Another budget friendly pick, this highlighter from L.A. Girl packs a serious punch for such a low price point

If you want a cheap highlighter that doesn’t compromise on glow, then this is definitely the one for you!

It’s a pressed powder formula, but has a silky buttery texture. The shade “110 Watt” is a neutral beige champagne and would look gorgeous on fair skin.

8. Smashbox Spotlight Palette

Smashbox Spotlight Palette, Pearl, 0.3 Ounce

This trio of highlighters is idea for those who like to experiment with their glow!

These highlighters vary in intensity, so you can choose exactly how you would like to build your glow for any occasion.

What I really enjoy about this palette, is that the formulas do NOT emphasize texture, which is great for when I slip on my skin care game and get some minor cheek acne.

The texture is super creamy and I love that they leave a healthy radiant sheen to the skin and nothing glittery or chalky looking.

Definitely scoop this palette up if you want variety in shade and intensity of your highlighters.

Do any of my pale girls out there have a highlighter they swear by? I definitely stand behind all of these as a pale girl myself, but with my collection always growing, I’m always down for more recommendations!
